Privacy Policy
Last updated July 25, 2026. How the ACM chapter at Augusta University handles your information on this site.
What we collect
- Account details — your email address, display name, and a hashed form of your password (we never store the password itself). If you enable two-factor authentication, we store the secret needed to verify your codes.
- Challenge activity — code you submit to the daily challenge, its judged results, flag-attempt outcomes for cyber challenges, and your points, streaks, and leaderboard entries.
- Messages — anything you send through the contact or interest forms.
- Technical data — IP addresses and login attempts, kept for rate limiting and abuse prevention.
How we use it
We use this information only to run the site: signing you in, judging submissions, keeping leaderboards fair, answering your messages, and protecting the service from abuse. Your display name appears publicly on leaderboards; your email address does not. We send email only for account actions you request — verification, password resets, and similar. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.
Cookies
We use a small set of cookies, none of them for tracking or ads:
- Session cookies that keep you signed in.
- A theme cookie that remembers your dark/light preference.
Third-party services
The site runs behind Cloudflare (network security and delivery), sends email through Resend, and loads fonts from Google Fonts — each of these processes technical request data (such as IP addresses) to provide its service.
Data retention
Account data is kept while your account exists. Contact and interest messages are kept as long as the officers need them for correspondence.
Your choices
- You can change your display name and theme from your account page.
- You can clear or block cookies in your browser (signing in requires the session cookies).
- You can ask us to delete your account and its data.
